White Walker Dragon

Another fabulous lazar design by Faith Pocock.  https://www.faithpocockcraftstudio.com/product-page/dragon-head

This was a fun design to create using lots of mixed media to bring him to life. When I first laid eyes on this wicked design I immediately thought of Game of Thrones with the White Walker Dragon. I hope you have lots of fun creating this amazing dragon.

Layout all the pieces and start gluing together. I used black gesso to coat, but only do this when it is put together as the joins are very tight. I will be showing pictures of panels already painted as it was easier to depict the tutorial. Staring with the base I used string,  cut and glued it around the outline. This gives texture for the mount.

Paint with gesso.

Once painted, let dry, then use crackle paint and paint over the gesso.

It should look like this. You can highlight the string with waxes. Repeat this procedure with the smaller mount, without the string.

Continue the string process on all marked panels

Start piecing all the panels together. You will need to glue some parts together.

I used tissues to start filling gaps to give a full look.

Modeling paste to also fill in and for texture. I purposely did not seek to smooth out the paste to seek a rough natural look.

Continue adding the tissue and paste.

Add the eyes, use white perfect pearls to go over the teeth.

Continue to texturized until you are ready to paint. I used white, then highlighted lightly with brown and black to give depth.

I hope you enjoyed the project as much as I did.

Birdhouse

Birdhouse
Fabulous little birdhouse from Faith’s Craft Studio.

Let’s get started on this fun little project.
Start putting the birdhouse together, placing the wide panels on the outer edge.

Work your way to the top using a tacky quick-drying glue.
The panels with the holes are where the chimney will go, like pictured. Put the chimney together.
It should look like this and ready to paint.
Paint with Gesso to seal
Using a brush coat the sides with crackle paste

I used Graphic 45 Fairy Wings got decorate the roof, but you can use whatever paper you like.

Choose your paper to punch out the roof tiles. I have used a heart punch here.

Glue them upside down to give the tile effect.

Use a dark green spray with a sponge and dab into the crackers and around the four sides.

Add the bird inside the door and add moss around the edges of the roof using a strong tacky glue. I also used a little moss around the chimney.

It should look like this.

Die-cut leaves/flourish and add to the front and sides.

Use a leftover wrapping paper roll and paint it. I used Tim Holtz Rustic Wilderness.

When the paint is dry, glue leaves and wreaths on the base.

Highlight with waxes.

Glue the base to the top of the Birdhouse.

Cut out a round circle for the base to balance on, and paint black.

Glue to the bottom of the base.

Die-cut leaves

Add the flourishes to the bottom of the birdhouse.

Die-cut garden greens and add them to the bottom of the base.

I hope you enjoyed making your birdhouse!
